Dr. Aref Alabed

Dr. Aref Alabed is an international trainer, leadership and communication consultant, and professional development specialist with extensive experience delivering learning programs across more than 25 countries. He is the Founder and CEO of the International Medical Training Academy in London and Catalyst Training Center in the UAE, and has designed and facilitated leadership, communication, train-the-trainer, and professional development programs for professionals from diverse cultural and organizational backgrounds. Known for his highly interactive facilitation style, Dr. Aref focuses on transforming training from passive information delivery into an engaging learning experience built around discussion, reflection, storytelling, practical exercises, role-play, and real-world application. His work particularly explores leadership, communication, emotional intelligence, group dynamics, and trainer development. He is passionate about helping educators and leaders create learning environments where participants feel engaged, challenged, confident, and inspired to translate learning into meaningful professional practice.

Leadership Strand

Synopsis- This highly interactive 60-minute workshop introduces school leaders, Heads of Department, and instructional supervisors to a practical coaching approach for improving teacher performance and professional growth. Participants will explore the difference between supervision and coaching, practise two core coaching skills—active listening and powerful questioning—and learn a simple structure for conducting more effective developmental conversations with teachers. Through short scenarios, paired practice, and reflection, participants will experience how coaching can build trust, encourage ownership, and turn feedback into meaningful professional dialogue. By the end of the session, participants will leave with a simple coaching conversation framework and practical questioning techniques.
