Dr. Terrell Willis

Dr. Terrell Willis is a lecturer in the Early Childhood Education Department at the Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai, where he prepares future educators through teaching, practicum supervision, and curriculum development. With 18 years of experience in education, Dr. Willis has worked extensively in American curriculum schools in both the United States and the UAE. In Atlanta, Georgia, he served as a Kindergarten Teacher and Head of Department for Third Grade, leading curriculum implementation, instructional planning, and teacher collaboration. In Dubai, Dr. Willis served as Head of Department for Kindergarten and Second Grade at Dubai American Academy. In this role, he supported the implementation of American curricula and standards in literacy and numeracy while contributing to assessments, curriculum design, instructional best practices, and student engagement. Dr. Willis is passionate about empowering educators to create inclusive, engaging, and equitable learning environments where every child has the opportunity to succeed and thrive.

Synopsis- Early Years classrooms thrive when instruction is engaging, accessible, and responsive to the diverse needs of young learners. This interactive workshop explores practical strategies that help all children successfully access learning through play, literacy, inquiry, and purposeful classroom experiences. Participants will examine ways to increase engagement, remove barriers to learning, and support student success through intentional planning, differentiation, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). The session will provide educators with research informed strategies that can be immediately implemented within schools.
