Joy Buckner

Joy Buckner is an educational consultant, keynote speaker, and global neurodiversity advocate with over 25 years of experience transforming how people teach, learn, and lead. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English–Early Childhood Education and a Master of Interdisciplinary Studies in Curriculum and Instruction. Her work spans more than 25 countries, where she partners with schools, ministries, and organizations to design inclusive learning environments. Informed by lived experience, she champions identity, belonging, and support. She is the founder of Buckner Education and host of The Joy of Neurodiversity podcast, inspiring educators and leaders to embrace diverse minds.

Educator Strand

Synopsis- This interactive workshop introduces educators to the foundations of neurodiversity and its relevance to today’s classrooms. Participants will explore the history of the neurodiversity movement and examine the spectrum of neurodiversity to better understand the range of learner experiences present in every classroom. Through interactive activities that challenge common misconceptions, educators will identify strengths often associated with neurodivergent thinkers and explore practical strategies alongside accessible AI tools that support diverse learning needs. Designed for immediate classroom application, this session helps educators move beyond awareness toward intentional instructional choices that create more inclusive, responsive learning environments where all students can thrive.
